The Stories that Dwell in the Circle of Eternal Interflow

Prologue

Stories That Dwell
in the Eternal Interflow

By the sea, the wind bears light upon its wings,
while on the hills the fields quietly echo the seasons.
Here, ocean and earth, fire and metal,
human hands and long-held prayers
fold into one another—
breathing as one, without boundary.

Beyond the torii gate of Oarai Isosaki Shrine,
standing where land and spirit quietly meet,
the sea of Oarai opens,
wild, unshaped, endlessly blue.
Its rolling waves stretch on and on,
until the heart is gently unburdened again.

Further on, past the torii gate of Sakatsura Isosaki Shrine,
the night horizon of the sea begins to glow.
Lights from factories flicker like distant stars,
born of human effort and careful skill—
not defying the dark,
but quietly guiding the future forward.

A sea breeze drifts inland,
crossing shore, fields, and forest alike.
The soil raises vegetables,
trees send the wind onward,
and when autumn comes,
the air itself ripens with scent.

Water of the sea,
earth of the fields,
wood of the forest,
metal shaped by human hands,
and fire that keeps hope alive—
an old way of reading,
how the world holds its balance.

Here, where those five elemental forces
turn gently, without strain,
there lingers a calm once called Tokoyo—
a world beyond time—
still catching the light,
scattered across the land.

Lights trembling on waves,
flowers blooming along narrow field paths,
factory lights burning through the night—
each carries an echo of lives once lived,
of prayers not yet faded.

Hitachinaka and Oarai.
Where sea and land reach for one another,
where harvest meets light.
Past and present alike,
this town continues to breathe—
people and nature together—
within the eternal interflow.
